Weekly Thoughts
Here are my thoughts on the wekend activities:
1. Andre Haynesworth should be suspended for the year w/o pay and have charges brought against him. He was not even provoked in anyway and even if he was, it does not warrant this type of behavior.
2. I have a feeling Haynesworth will be the next Kermit Washington for the NFL.
3. Terry Glenn is the Cowboys #1 receiver, don't let anyone else let you think otherwise. The connection he has with Drew Bledsow is beyond explanation.
4. Chicago looks more like the Super Bowl favorite every week.
5. The Texans fans gave Mario Williams a standing ovation for his first career sack. Huh? You know the fans are trying to convince themselves that their number 1 pick was not a bust.
6. From having a 10 plus game leas in the season to now getting in the playoffs as the wild card will be a huge letdown for the Detroit Tigers. Hopefully that feeling won't carry over.
7. It's October and you know what that means....time to check if A-Rod will actually do anything to help his name. Relax man.
8. If Jets coach Eric Mangini had gone for the field goal, people would have criticized him for playing to conservately and playing not to lose. So shut up critics!! This is not Barry Switzer back in 1995.
9. I had flashbacks of Cal-Stanford at the end of the Jets-Colts game.
10. I cannot stand the Ozzie Guillen commercial with ESPN and Neil Everett. I don't know why but it just gets on my nerves. It was funny at first but I cringe now when I hear it.
11. What I hate even more than that commercial is the commercial for the poker game that is being advertised where the voice goes "Oooooooohhhhhaaaa!" I hate that!
12. Vince Young showed he was inexperienced but showed flashes of his talent. Let's just hope he can have the mental toughness not to have the seasons of Heath Shuler or Ryan Leaf.
13. Cowboys Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer I feel will be the front runner for the Texas A&M job this offseason if it become available and after that loss against Texas Tech, it looks more like Dennis Franchione will be gone. Zimmer's contract has not been extended and I do not feel he would be offered the Cowboy job if Parcells retires so, college is another option. He was in competition for the Nebraska job a few years ago.
14. John Smith can slap himself all he wants but there is a shadow that looms in the background.....Steve Mariucci. Another front-runner waiting in the wings.
15. Rutgers is us undefeated and Miami (Fl) is unranked. What are the odds?
16. Kansas Jayhawks football team has been very competitive, losing its only two games in OT. Why is this impressive? Did you ever think the JAyhawks would be competitive?
17. Roger Clemens, Andy Petitte, Miguel Tejada, David Segui, were some of the names released in the documents gathered as a result of the raid on former MLB pitcher Jason Grimsleys' house. Does this prove anything? Yes. That everyone is under speculation. You cannot trust anyone who played baseball in the last ten years or so.
18. How good would it be if Ohio State (ranked #1) would face Michigan (ranked #6 currently), if Michigan went up in the ranking to #2? The best rivalry in college football at its climax.
19. Yankees in 4 over the Tigers. Twins in 4 over the A's. Mets in 5 over the Dodgers and Cardinals in 5 over the Padres.
20. I do not feel there is a clear-cut favoirte in the MLB playoffs. The Yankees have the best record but they are not all together dominant.
21. I suck at fantasy football.
22. See the ending to Desparate Housewives? I could not stop laughing!
See ya!
